The goal of my work is to build connections with the materials and objects around us. We must enjoy these objects, but they should also help us understand our impact and what we need to do to solve the climate crisis
The way I design and work has always been very physical and hands on. In the ever-more digitized online world, we are losing the connections between our brain and working with our hands. I like to immerse myself in a material or place and let it dictate the direction of the design as opposed to bending it to my will. I am always thinking about how our decisions—both big and small—impact our environment and the nature around us, and how we can grow that bond.
I believe the more we can connect our indoor lives with the outdoors though design and innovation, the more we can understand and appreciate the natural world, and the harder we will work to protect it.
